Low carb Asian BBQ chicken wings

Slow cooker magic strikes again!

I bought two large batches of chicken wings and drumsticks.  Put all these ingredients in crock pot for two hours.  YUMMY!

  • 4-1/2 lb. chicken wing drumettes, winglets, or both
  • 2 medium scallions, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 3 Tbs. Asian sesame oil
  • 1 Tbs. minced fresh ginger
  • 1 Tbs. sirchia
  • 2 Tbs. apple cider vinegar

The highest carbs are in the hoisin sauce, so I only used 1/2 cup, which was about 100g of carbs for about 16 wings and drumsticks, so approximately 6g per wing/stick.  Keep in mind the drumsticks/wings I got is almost 4 oz EACH drumstick.  These are HUGEEEEE drumsticks/wings!

This is all very approximate since we have no way of knowing how much the sauce gets absorbed in after the slow cooker does its thing.
